Suspected case of Wuhan coronavirus in the Philippines

CEBU CITY, PHILIPPINES - Health personnel in the Philippines started investigations of a patient in Cebu City after symptoms of Chinese Wuhan Coronavirus.

The Wuhan coronavirus is a "cousin" of the SARS virus that most likely started from an animal that's been spreaded to humans. According to, Scientist Leo Poon.

A child in Cebu City was taken to the hospital shortly after they arrived from Wuhan Provice on January 12, 2020. He had a fever and was coughing.

Department of Health secretary said that samples taken from the child tested negative from SARS and MERS which are illnesses caused by two deadly coronavirus.

Although, a non-specific pancorona virus was tested positive.

World Health Organization are currently learning more about the coronavirus and already tallied more than 200 cases of the said virus.
